Outdoor Grow Leads to Additional Search Warrants

Two men were arrested Friday, October 4th, 2013 at dark, in connection with a marijuana growing operation near Valley Falls, Kansas. The arrest made on October 4th, 2013, has subsequently led authorities conducting the investigation to 2638 Ferguson Road in Perry, Kansas, where a Search Warrant was served.
Aside from the 37 plants seized in the outdoor grow found on the U.S. Department Army Corps of Engineers ground on October 4th, 2013, the residence yielded an indoor growing operation where authorities seized another 105 marijuana plants in different stages of growth, along with the growing paraphernalia and evidence to support the accused crimes. Jefferson County authorities further located another small outdoor grow in back of the residence, among some evergreen trees, which yielded another 30 marijuana plants.
At this time the total amount of marijuana plants seized is 172, which authorities believe to be considered a high grade strain of Marijuana. The investigation status is ongoing at this time according to Sheriff Jeff Herrig.
